The 3.0-liter, V6 24-valve VQ30 DE gasoline engine boasts
excellent power delivery at all engine speeds. Maximum powÓer
and torque ratings have been increased, largely through
refinements to the air intake control system. More torque is
now available at low and medium engine speeds.
The new VQ's ultra-smooth response was achieved by minimizing
engine weight and friction loss. A durable aluminum-alloy
engine block contributes to weight reduction, while micro
finishing of the crankshaft and camshaft help cut friction
loss.
Thanks to an improved engine-mounting system and more rigid
body, the pitch of the new VQ as heard from the cabin is
conductive to quiet conversation.
The VQ is a seven-time winner of
the "Ten Best Engines Award" presented by U.S
automotive journal Ward's Auto World.
