The Pickup's newly available KA24DE twin cam gasoline engine
160 HP/ 5,600 rpm (SAE) with electronic fuel injection
provides powerful yet economical performance.
What's more the fuel tank capacity has been increased from
60L to 75L (for all models except the Single Cab Regular
Bed), allowing increased cruising range.
The new VQ's ultra-smooth response was achieved by
minimizing engine weight and friction loss. A durable
aluminum-alloy engine block contributes to weight reduction,
while micro finishing of the crankshaft and camshaft help
cut friction loss.
Thanks to an improved engine-mounting system and more rigid
body, the pitch of the new VQ as heard from the cabin is
conductive to quiet conversation.
